FOUND: Sweet Home Alabama

Watch it, Y'all.

Ok.. first watch Game of Thrones... then watch this.

So fine, you are not sure if you even have CMT... I wasn't either. Hell, I didn't even know what CMT was up until I worked on this show.

If you like dating shows, this is definitely the cream of the crop... the pick of the litter...

Whew...I am exhausted from all of this self promotion...

FOUND: Game of Thrones

I must confess last weekend I had a Game of Thrones bender.

I never got into the Potter or into Twilight... but let me tell you.

WINTER IS COMING....

Now start watching.

(I am onto the books so I can feed the beast. I need to know everything. )

FOUND: missed connection

You and your dog were rolling one way ...

Sadly I was rolling the other.

I should have offered to give your dog a lift in my backpack.

FOUND: sunset junction mixer

I mixed it up at the sunset junction media mixer at El CID-

For obvious reasons- the free drinks and food.

It's somewhat tragic that it took me this long to find a reason to walk down the dramatic candlelit staircase that descends into this bar. I always meant to go to El CID when I moved back to LA from Madrid, in order to get my Flamenco fix, but never got my act together.

Apparently It took a free and open bar to get me down there.

Considering I got wined and dined, I should probably mention the sunset junction event coming up this year- one of the headliners- Hanson. Probably not a band name you would want printed on your flyer, a flyer to be distro-ed to the eastside hipster masses. I don't think that Hanson logically falls into category of hip things to be "brought back", like typewriters and monocles. In my opinion, they have to be a lasting trend to warrant a legit return.

Um-bop.

Secret confession: I would probably be to going to the junction if I weren't going to be in Spain.

FOUND: Gabe's Thirty!

Gabe's 30th....

Ahoy Gabey!!

Everyone brought him balloons, filling the jacuzzi to the brim.

Mai tais and greyhounds were the perfect poolside accessories.

It was the perfect relief for our first official day of summer and he was the host with the most...

Ahhhh. Gabe, would you be a doll and turn 30 again next weekend? I hear it's gonna be 87 degrees.

Love you!

FOUND: birthday on the waterfront

Celebrated the birth of Venice, on the waterfront. Literally.

Armin and Cate had no idea that it was a birthday party....

And completely forgot to bring a present.

Woops.

But at least Armin had some Cool cat tattoos in tow, He's thinking about making them permanent.

I support.

FOUND: you scream, I scream for mochi

Mikawaya, where my dreams come true in a gelatinous ball form on a hot summer day in July.

Alexis ordered a white one, vanilla?

Though you can't eat just one. Always a pair. A pair of mochi balls.

FOUND: garden in the streets

During my hosting duties, I selected Art in The Streets as the "cultural dose" that would best serve the both of them.

Katie met us with bike in tow at the Geffen-

I let them all explore at their leisure as

I hid in the room of neon...

FOUND:Benito's

So my local Benitos has upgraded. My life has upgraded dramatically. There are now new chairs and tables and a salsa bar... A salsa bar!!!!

Benitos showed my friend from SF the true magic that it offers at 2am. She ran into a fellow Stanford grad who had mutual friends in line.

Did I mention there is a salsa bar..... Magic.

FOUND: venice beach freakshow

Phil treated me to the freak show in Venice. $5 entry. Figured I had gone long enough walking by this establishment and considering it's longevity on the boardwalk, it was almost my duty as an angeleno to enter.

This gent hammered a nail up his nose and swallowed swords.

This lady ate fire and was a contortionist of sorts.

This scared and scarred me.

The man with hypertrichosis jumped into our photo at the last second and sent us on our merry way.

Though in all honesty, I was left feeling slightly conflicted about this gentleman,Jesus Aceves cloaked in his own hair, due to his congenital generalized hypertrichosis, and his place at the freak show.

FOUND: the declaration

I love how on the Fourth I am reminded of the declaration of independence. The tradition of reading it beginning to end is one that I hold dear.

It's up there with all of the Fourth essentials; eating buttered corn on the cob and watermelon, body surfing in the pacific, biking the path to Venice, and playing with handfuls of sparklers.

FOUND: halo

I had two SF friends visiting this weekend, neither knew each other... Until I forced them together....

It wasn't until I took a photo of them at Bottega Louie during brunch that I realized the holiness of this newfound union of friends.

A halo!

Sadly I'm not as holy, even though I'm praying.

I love bottega, however the service was horrid.... Took 20 minutes to get milk for my coffee and my breakfast flatbread came out 30 minutes before their brunches.

It's pretty obvious what I was praying for, above....

FOUND: the 3rd of july

Pete threw a fireworks/ bbq party in his bachelor pad. We decided we would bike from the club.

His house is placed strategically atop the hill above the bel air bay club... Prime for the showy fireworks spectacular.

The beach was socked in all day... And the sky broke just in time for the works.

FOUND: lou

Katie got a groupon for Lou and knowing my love for any and every deal, she invited me to join her to use it. In turn, I invited her to join me at a friends house party! We picked up a pack of Hite... And we rolled to the hills, bellies filled with burrata, Mac and cheese, veggie tart, a poached egg frisee salad, an the obligatory pig candy.

Solid.

Bringing your sister as a date to a party is the best.... We don't even have to talk... We just exchange judgmental glances and chuckle. Ahhhh that's what's family is for.
