FOUND: standard downtown

Checked into the room and used my sisters upgrade... Bless her heart... As it was massive! I pretty much could have put my super king bed into the shower.
It was the perfect venue for our "pre-ball pre-ball"!

Christened the room.

Welcoming our neighbors to the hall, Dan gave them a gift.

Witnessed some Sketchiness down the hall.

Woke up the next morning.... Smiled...Closed my eyes again.

FOUND: The Spinsters

Danced from dusk til dawn in black tie...I vaguely remember at some point I was wearing a black bow tie. So I pretty much "won" out of the women in the room because I was literally in black tie.

Cate invited me to join her table and it was our mission to have the most fun out of all of the attendees.

!

?

And guess what. We succeeded.

Walked to my standard downtown room at the wee-est of hours. I love this city.

FOUND: koreatown galleria

This koreatown galleria is nothing like the Glendale galleria.... I am still on the fence about the word galleria.

So when I found out my Chinese foot massage place wasn't going to take me for another hour I decided to go on a walking expedition through Ktown for a snack. I stumbled upon a pedestrian-unfriendly mall designed for four wheel arrivals. Oh flawed building planning...

I passed on shopping in the mall and hit the Korean market instead in the basement. Nothing better than a Korean market.... So many tasting stations!!!!

The outdoor eating terrace was a pleasant surprise and I thought I should snack a bit further...

There were some lovely terrace views, FYI.

Yes I was in the minority. The only white person.

This white girl selected the foot court Restaurant that offered the most english descriptions on their menu.

The dumplings or Mandoo, were simple the best. They were freshly made and steamed. I loved the seaweed salad, miso soup, and pickled radish accompaniment. Pretty much rounds out my meal.

Now ready for a foot rub and tug.

FOUND: peeing on Robertson

A pleasant surprise to stumble upon him during my shopping expedition.

Hopefully the flock of paparazzi on the street don't catch him in the act.

FOUND: my chemical

I'm pretty ashamed I actually attended a teenybop concert filled with KROQ inland emperors. My chemical romance. It was my palladium romance.

My justification: free VIP tix at the palladium, a venue I have been fascinated with and dying to explore.

What I learned: I am officially an old person. I'm all about zero bar lines, perfect unobstructed views, and an over 21 deodorized crowd.

The highlight of my evening: getting hit on by a 35 yr old southbayer, who drives a bright yellow motorcycle with a radioactive sign. The pick up line: "hey babe, my friends call me The Meltdown"

It was the purest of entertainment.

He didn't melt me... I melted him and left him in a puddle. My friends call me The Puddlejumper

FOUND: yanksanbak

Found this hidden Ktown gem on 6th and normandie... It was questionably cheap.

All the standard fare plus a large bottle of Hite- $30, making it out to be $20/person.

I particularly enjoyed the steaming tofu soup. I'll be back! That deal was too good to be true!

FOUND: Givers

Abigail brought me as her guest to the Givers concert tonight at the Bootleg. I'm surprised it was my first time at that venue.... Seeing as though many of my favorite bands pass through there at some point or another. I guess that goes for The GIVERS too!

My simple review: They killed it on stage tonight...they gave their all and bless their hearts, it made all the difference.

Overall I left the concert wanting to call/text/tweet/blog everyone I know, to turn them onto this band. It is a rare thing to feel it so immediately.

Move over Local Natives, this band is on the ups and will pretty much snap up your audience in one song.

I was so impressed with the general musicianship of everyone on stage. Can't wait to see them again... I am hoping another tambereen will see it's end on the stage?!?

Obviously I couldn't help myself but try the cider on tap. Julian Cider.... Yawn. Brooks Dry Cider will knock it out of the tap.

FOUND: Mt.Washington

Went up to Steph's into the mountain of Washington for memorial day weekend.

I got to meet her cat, Lola and her boyfriend, Bruce and I got to intimately meet her Grill...

FOUND: simple things

All I wanted was to love this new dining establishment a block from Joans on 3rd.... Sadly when I crunched into the quartersized egg shell that sliced the inside of my mouth... I lost my appetite for the place.

I will quickly do a breakdown:
Many seats avail- plus
Solid menu offerings- plus
Decent prices ($2 less that Joans)-plus

Eggshell in eggs Benedict- minus
Server who could have cared less- minus

Altogether- meh. Maybe I'll go for a pie.... But that's when Joans is closed. Just saying.

FOUND: last day on set

I was a bit emotional today, being that I had to say goodbye to the crew today. Now I'll be just another lookyloo- Craning my next as I drive by the shop on La Brea.

What made my day? Someone at the shop has their knuckles named Lucy.

FOUND: is your cat preggers?

FOUND:Currywurst

Abigail and I hit up Currywurst in silverlake with a friend of ours from Austria... And forced him to speak in German so we could feel like we were transported to Germany. I'm kidding. ( ok now I'm lying)

I would have taken a photo of the dish, but I ate it in a blink.

FOUND: mr brainwash on la brea

Mr. Brainwash kindly gave me a personal tour of his 72k sq ft space where he will be having his next LA show. Funny that I called the building in a previous blog post a "graffiti Mecca". It's so appropriate that he would be doing his show there, of all places, in September.

I'm very impressed with his entire undertaking and the fact that he took time out of his graffiting for little ole me..

That said, is it graffiti if you are leasing the building!?
