FOUND: Napa-tizing Day!

A vacation 2-for-1. San Fran & Napa!

Gabor, Marissa & I are off to Napa for the day... picked up Cowgirl Creamery Cheese (Humbolt Fog & Mt. Tam), a baguette, and a selection of salami from Boccalone... for mid-day snacking.

Returning back to LA tonight.... though my ticket time is adjustable... so always have the flexibility of staying another night. No job to go back to. Oh the freedom!

FOUND: Boccalone has lots of bologna

BOCCALONE SALUMERIA was also featured on the Food Network show I produced.... scored some tasty salted pork parts....

My Fav: Fennel & Orange Salumi

It pays your stomach to work on food related shows.

FOUND: Bi-rite was RIGHT!

Had one required visit during this trip up to SF.

It was absolutely essential that I eat an ice-cream from Bi-Rite Creamery.

Figured I would get to play my "producer card"... where I remind the owner that I produced a show on the Food Network where we featured their "Sam's Sundae" with hopes of a larger than usual scoop.

We got to the ice-cream shop to find it closed.

My Plot was foiled.
A note was posted outside directing us across the street to go to the Market where we could purchase some there.

I got my larger than usual scoop.... courtesy of myself.... a pint. Cookies and Cream. BAM!

FOUND: Dustin Curtis

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA! Best answer! I need to meet this Dustin character who only eats cheese. Oh wait, I met him last night... next time less tequila and more conversation.

Till next time.... I will meet you at the same bar next time with bells on...

Scratch that, you are scared of bells.

FOUND: The Bit.ly people

So. I am pretty new to this thing called the Interweb!

And I am currently tangled up with excitement as my friend Gabor has graciously Tweet'ed me out using Bit.ly. What a fancy little gadget it is....

I, of course, am nursing a hangover from last night's RE:party and already thinking of how bit.ly would be an awesome drinking game.

Where you take a shot of beer for every click you get...

Welcome my new Bit.ly friends!

I raise my morning shot glass to you!

FOUND: reFun in SF

Friends, I am off to San Francisco tomorrow.... to CELEBRATE the sale of my friend's company,reMail to GOOGLE.

Yes, GOOGLE.

Like the GOOGLE we all know & love.

Let's just say I apparently know some of the big guns in SF and that big gun is throwing a big party and has offered to get me up there to attend in style!

Tonight feels like Christmas, where Santa is coming... and I just can't wait to get up. From the top notch flight (courtesy of GC) , good peeps, SF shopping, free booze.... life just doesn't get much better than this. Makes a girl forget about her unemployment! Until she comes back to LA!

If you have any fun SF advice for places to go to shop, eat, observe... feel free to send them my way!

FOUND: La Descarga

Right now I am primping and prepping for a night on the town with some of my HP peeps! The LBD is being christened and I have double checked our confirmation email for our reservation. All is aligned.

The place is called LA DESCARGA... and appropriately named in spanish, "the Download"... I will be sure to give it to you when I get home tonight.

Or probably tomorrow, seeing as though it is a Rum Bar, it is best that I avoid drunk posts... I have managed thus far which has impressed myself.

Off to a hidden, cuban rum bar in koreatown... yip yip!

FOUND: Octopus

So, I admit... I was trolling C-list, as most underemployed people do to pass the hours.

I stumbled upon this. An Octopus, $40

* I love their conversation too...

FOUND: Delete

Hahaha,

Saw these in a store...

very very creative!

"WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES" is the tag line for the product.

*See mom, my "brains blowing up" in 3rd grade was just a mistake... that's all.

LOST: Laguiole Cheese Knives

Lost my favorite french cheese knives... and considering how often they are used ...
this is definitely going to affect my day-to-day cheese consumption lifestyle.

It would be like me trying to get by without a hair brush.

Scratch that, I don't use a brush, who am I kidding. I guess a better analogy would be like me adjusting to ikea wine glasses instead of using my Riedels.

Things are gonna be a little off until I get a replacement set.

FOUND: Slow Food Plate

SLWFOOD - plate spotted on 3rd St.

V. Cool. V. nice message

Just found the perfect Little Black Dress!

Thanks Hilary Rush for convincing me I NEED another dress.

FOUND: (potty-shy people don't click)

Facts about Poop. (sorry, it's potty humor)

My friend Abigail sent me a link, to include into an email I was going to sent to a gentleman caller, she felt it would be a nice comedic touch.

Needless to say, I didn't include it, but posted it here instead. For your enjoyment purposes.

*sorry, if this disgusts you... Don't click here.

** Oh and photo taken was from my trip to Japan, for realz!

FOUND: Mini Burger Buns (TJ's)

While crashing a friend's book group - (appropriately named "Tequila Mockingbird")

I met a guy who was explaining his recipe for mini-burgers, using Trader Joe's mini hamburger buns.

I am already brainstorming a "hamburger-off" event where everyone has to bring their mini signature hamburger for voting purposes.

Winner gets a bottle of my handmade Ketchup & Mustard.

FOUND: Jack-o-lantern Jones

Ok, I promise... no more dog posts. But before I officially declare that, I just wanted to introduce you to my friend, Meg's dog.

This is Jack-o-lantern Jones.

So word on the street is that it is National Margarita day.

I gotta feeling.....

Tonight's gonna be a good, good, Monday!

WOHOOO!

FOUND: Dodgeball Sub

Looks like I am a sub tonight for my friend's dodgeball team!

Sweet!

No joke, this league is serious.... like really really serious. So serious that I am actually kinda nervous.

Depending on how it goes, I might just line up my group of friends to start up a team for next season.

FOUND: ALOUD-downtown Library

If you haven't gotten downtown to the library and attended ALOUD, you should make it a priority! (bonus: most programs/events are free)
I was hoping I could slip into the below lecture this wednesday, however it's full. I saw Joseph Stiglitz speak last time he was at ALOUD, he isn't to be missed.
*in the future, I will post on the blog some open events*

After Finishing my book-group selection this month; THREE CUPS OF TEA, by Greg Mortenson

One of the Book Groupers mentioned an event that a friend of hers is hosting in LA next month where Greg Mortenson is coming to speak!

Description

FOUND: Mexican coca-cola

I don't drink soda... for many reasons.

I do drink soda... when I am sick... and when it is Mexican coca cola (w/ real sugar!)

Shhh... don't tell my mom.

I grew up in a house where Frutopia & Snapple were the only "sugary beverages" we were allowed on a weekly basis and Hansen's was a treat only for special occasions.

FOUND: 405 Parking Lot?

Schwarzenegger proposes adding a second level to the 405.
